Our countryside is chock full of hidden wonders. Consider the rural expanse of San Miguel CA for your next vacation getaway.
Just north of Paso Robles visitors enjoy the historic gem of San Miguel Arcangel (or San Miguel Archangel) the 16th California mission founded in 1797 tracing the El Camino Real trail. This rural treasure hasn't changed much during the past centuries.
Unfortuanately, due to earthquake damage, the Mission is temporarily closed to visitors, but the grounds and outbuildings, including a delightful museum shop, are educational treasures not to be missed.
In the surrounding hillsides you'll find rows and rows of vineyards, almond trees, and horse and cattle ranches reminding us of an all but forgotten way of life. Many new vineryards and wineries are popping up here, some with tasting rooms. The winding roads are perfect for bicycle rides in the country.
We are a mixture of many cities and towns but you'll recognize one thing - we enjoy sharing our slice of paradise with travelers.

Upcoming San Miguel Events & Activities
San Miguel is a small California town with a famous Spanish Mission. Mission San Miguel Arcangel is the 16th of 21 Spanish Missions established during the 18th century. San Miguel Arcangel was founded by Franciscan Father Fermin Lasuen in 1797 and it continues to be a parish church today.
The San Simeon earthquake of December 22, 2003, severely damaged the old Mission, and it is temporarily closed to visitors. The congregation is still meeting in nearby buildings, and they are working to restore the Mission. The Mission grounds are well worth a visit while you are in San Luis Obispo County. Your help restoring the Mission would be a blessing. Visit the official website of the Mission and see how you can contribute to restoring this historical and religious treasure.
