San Luis Obispo County Regional Airport ~ Code: SBP
Located just two miles south of the City of San Luis Obispo, the modern and convenient San Luis Obispo County Regional Airport serves areas as far north as Southern Monterey County and as far south as Northern Santa Barbara County. The airport offers dozens of convenient flights daily to and from San Luis Obispo County.
Visitors and residents have the choice of four commercial airlines with flights to Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Salt Lake City and San Francisco.
The airport is also home to full service general aviation and corporate facilities.
If you prefer, there is a scheduled daily coach service that shuttles between Los Angeles (LAX) airport and the city of San Luis Obispo.
San Luis Obispo County Train Stations:
SLO County is blessed with excellent Amtrak north – south train connnections to Los Angeles and Oakland / San Francisco, and cities in between.
Amtrak offers three train stations in the county: Grover Beach in the south (also serving nearby Pismo Beach and Arroyo Grande), the City of San Luis Obispo in the center, and Paso Robles to the north.
- The Pacific Surfliner travels between the cities of San Luis Obispo in the north and San Diego in the south, with stops in Los Angeles, Goleta, Santa Barbara, Grover Beach and many smaller towns in between. You can takes this route by train or by Amtrak bus.
- The Coast Starlight travels between Seattle in the north and Los Angeles in the south, with stops in Portland, Sacramento, Oakland, San Jose, Salinas, Pazso Robles, San Luis Obispo, Grover Beach, Santa Barbara and some other locations in between.
- Amtrak Thruway Motorcoach Service travels between Oakland in the north and Santa Barbara in the south, with stops in San Francisco, San Jose, Paso Robles, San Luis Obispo, Grover Beach, Santa Barbara and several towns in between. (Bus Routes 17, 21 & 36.)
Many hotels and some car rental companies are glad to pick up their guests from these stations. At the moment, there are three passenger trains daily, with another planned soon.
